The Arcteq AQ-1000 arc quenching device extinguishes arcing faults in low-voltage systems up to 690 V.
The AQ-1000 system is designed to limit the total arcing time to 4 ms and to minimise – or even eliminate – the thermal and pressure effects of an arc fault. In typical applications this keeps the incident energy below 1 cal/cm² and allows equipment and personnel to remain within safe limits. AQ-1000 is fully resettable, so full system tests can be carried out on-site whenever required.
The Arcteq AQ-1000 arc quenching device is engineered for industrial LV systems where fast fault suppression is essential.
AQ-1000 is used together with the AQ-100 arc protection system. When an AQ-100 series relay detects an arc fault, it simultaneously trips the circuit-breaker(s) feeding the fault and triggers the AQ-1000 arc quenching device. AQ-1000 then creates a low-impedance parallel path for the fault current, rapidly collapsing the arc. The total arcing time of the system is less than 4 milliseconds.
