SATEC PM175 PRO Power Quality Analyser and Power Meter

SATEC PM175 PRO is a modular power quality analyser and power meter combining Class A power quality monitoring with revenue-grade energy metering in a single device. It is designed for LV and MV feeders in substations, industrial plants and commercial installations, providing accurate energy data, disturbance recording and native support for utility communication protocols for seamless integration into SCADA and energy management systems.

SATEC PM175 PRO Power Quality Analyser and Power Meter is a combined Class A power quality analyser and revenue-grade energy meter for LV and MV systems.

For projects that need both accurate billing and detailed power quality information, the SATEC PM175 PRO Power Quality Analyser and Power Meter allows you to standardise on a single platform instead of installing separate meters and PQ analysers.
Typical applications include MV and LV switchboards, industrial substations, process lines, generators, UPS and critical loads in data centres and commercial buildings.
The SATEC PM175 PRO Power Quality Analyser and Power Meter is equally suited for new projects and retrofit programmes, where panel space, wiring time and integration effort are limited.

For full installation and configuration details, see the official PM17X PRO Installation and Operation Manual.

Key functions

  • Combined power meter and power quality analyser – high-accuracy energy metering and Class A power quality analysis in one device
  • Revenue-grade metering – active energy accuracy Class 0.2S for billing, settlement and cost allocation
  • Class A power quality monitoring – compliant with IEC 61000-4-30 Edition 3 for voltage quality, events and disturbances
  • Disturbance and fault recording – high-speed transient and RMS recording for detailed fault and event analysis
  • Sequence of Events (SOE) – time-stamped event recording for accurate reconstruction of system behaviour
  • Advanced communications – native Ethernet and RS-485 with support for standard utility protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-101/104, IEC 61850)
  • Onboard data storage – internal memory for long-term data logging, power quality reports and compliance records

Measurement inputs and I/O

  • Multi-phase voltage and current inputs for LV and MV feeders
  • Wide dynamic range current inputs suitable for protection CTs and measurement CTs
  • Support for high-accuracy current sensors and retrofittable solutions in existing panels
  • Configurable digital inputs and outputs for status indication, alarms and simple control functions
  • Plug-in I/O cards to adapt the device to different switchboard and substation layouts

Power quality monitoring and recording

  • Continuous Class A monitoring of voltage and frequency, dips, swells, interruptions, flicker and unbalance
  • Harmonic and interharmonic analysis for assessing distortion and compliance with network limits
  • Disturbance recorder capturing waveforms and RMS trends for faults, switching events and abnormal conditions
  • Sequence of Events recording with precise time stamps to correlate protection operations and plant events
  • Automated power quality reports to support standards-based assessment and long-term benchmarking

Communications and system integration

  • Ethernet and serial interfaces for flexible connection to control and monitoring systems
  • Support for Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3 and IEC 60870-5-101/104 for integration into existing SCADA and RTU infrastructures
  • IEC 61850 support for modern substation automation architectures
  • Secure, structured data access for energy management, power quality analysis and centralised reporting

Typical applications

  • Utility and industrial substations requiring revenue metering and power quality analysis in the same device
  • Main and feeder switchboards in industrial plants, hospitals, transport and commercial buildings
  • Monitoring of critical LV and MV feeders supplying sensitive or mission-critical loads
  • Retrofit projects where detailed disturbance recording and Class A power quality data are required without major panel redesign
